Jon Doyle, Chief Operating Officer Group Legal, Barclays
Jon Doyle joined Barclays Investment Bank in 2008 as a programme manager within Credit Derivatives, responsible for the integration of Lehman’s IT systems, OTC Clearing and other regulatory mandated changes. Jon then moved into the Operations Strategy Team in 2009 managing the execution programme around a three year strategy. The following year he transferred across to the Corporate Bank, working initially as Portfolio Director before taking over as Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Trade and Working Capital business. He subsequently assumed the role of global Product COO covering Cash Management, Debt Finance, Trade and FX. Most recently he has moved into the Group Legal department to run their COO function. Before Barclays, Jon was in the Royal Air Force (RAF), employed as a Wing Commander. His core competencies were mainly within air traffic operations and airport/airspace manager and delivering large-scale change programmes.
His final position was in the Ministry of Defence, London, where he was responsible for Policy and Defence Relations in the Middle East (specifically Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the UAE). During his time with the RAF, Jon was also tutoring for the Open University on the Foundations Course of the MBA Programme. Jon is married to Ali (who runs her own design business) and they have two children. Away from work his main sporting interests are cycling, Liverpool Football Club and skiing.
